It’s election day across the nation.
Polls opened at 7:00 a.m. this morning, and close at 8:00 p.m. this evening.
Fall River voters who did not partake in the early voting program are encouraged to do so before the polls in this year’s controversial presidential election close.
So far, according to Secretary of State William Galvin, over one million people cast their ballots during the first-ever early voting period allowed in the Bay State, which here in Fall River, ended on November 4th.
Galvin anticipates a “very high turnout,” citing a “high level of interest” in the presidential contest between Republican Donald Trump, and Democrat Hillary Clinton, as well as a focus by voters on four statewide ballot questions.
The questions ask voters if they want expanded-slot machine gaming; charter school expansion; conditions for farm animals changed, and whether or not to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana.
In Fall River so far, voter turnout is heavy. FRC Media News will have voting updates as they come in.
