What’s Happening at Fall River Public Library

This week at Fall River Public Library, you can pick up a children’s take-home craft, play in an online video game tournament, or learn to download eBooks and audiobooks. It’s all waiting for you at the library!

This week, starting February 22, the Children’s Room is offering a polar bear magnet craft, part of our Winter Craft Series. To reserve one for curbside pickup, or to book a half-hour visit to the Children’s Room, call the library at 508-324-2700, ext. 4. The Winter Craft Series is sponsored by Debby and Richard Danner.

While visiting the Children’s Room, check out our new book displays and pick up a Mystery Magic Trick bag. The bags include directions and equipment for a fun and easy magic trick kids can do at home, plus suggestions for other tricks kids can do with household items and a reading list of books about magic. We will also be posting some magic trick videos on our Facebook page, so follow us to see them!

For teens, the library is offering an online Fortnite Tournament on Wednesday, February 24 at 4 p.m. Registration is required for this free event, so sign up now! Call Taylor at 508-324-2700, ext. 123, or email tsilva@sailsinc.org for more information. This program is sponsored by the Fall River Women’s Union.

Did you know you can read eBooks and listen to audiobooks on your phone or tablet, absolutely free, with the Libby one-tap reading app? Learn how at the library’s Libby EBook Virtual Training on Wednesday, February 24. A 30-minute introductory class will be offered at 9, 9:30, and 10 a.m., followed by a deep dive session with advanced tips and tricks at 10:30 a.m. Register at https://overdrive.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_4ulOf2lgR8q9gUOmjlPxuw.
