A 338 foot aluminum catamaran designed for speed, flexibility, and maneuverability is coming to it’s namesake city of Fall River September 17th -20th.
The USNS Fall River, which is the fourth of 11 Navy Joint High Speed Vessels planned for military sea-lift command, will dock at the waterfront and be open to visitors.
Executive Director of Battleship Cove Brad King says, “This is an amazing rare event for Fall River and to have her namesake ship visiting her “home” a magical moment and great honor.”
The reconfigurable 20 thousand square foot mission bay area can be quickly adapted to support a number of different missions from carrying containerized portable hospitals to supporting disaster relief to transporting tanks and troops.
