With just cardboard, duct tape, and plastic trash bags, the contestants of the 6th Annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Boat Race have built vessels that will compete on Wednesday, October 14. Paddle off time: 2:00 p.m.

The races will take place on the BCC Pond at the Fall River Campus at 777 Elsbree St.

Racers compete for the best time in a one-run heat of up to three boats at a time out on the water.

The BCC Engineering Club invites student clubs, faculty, and staff the opportunity to see the practical use of engineering in a simple, fun and competitive way by offering the races.

Using materials that seem incompatible with the project, the club has proved that with a little imagination and effort you can build a boat the floats and survives the race. The proceeds gained by race registration will be used to fund the BCC engineering club, along with collaborative projects planned with area middle schools.
