A seven-member task force has been meeting this year to explore the possibility of changing Fall River’s form of government.
City Councilor Steve Camara, chair of the Fall River Task Force, says the group is working on proposing changes within the current city charter to form a government with a city manager, rather than a mayor, as chief executive of the city.
There is hope the proposal could be put before voters this fall.
Despite ambitions for a speedy outcome, it is likely voters will be asked to vote on a proposal in 2021.
