Reportedly, the strike that has affected about 31 thousand Stop & Shop workers, including those employed at two Fall River locations, has ended tonight.
A tentative three year contract between the United Food & Commercial Workers Union, and the grocery store employees, has been drafted and agreed upon by both sides. The new contract, however, still needs to be ratified by the five separate local unions that oversee different locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
Here are the highlights of what the new contract includes:
* Pay Increases
* Preserved health care benefits
* Continued retirement benefits
* Time and a half pay for current employees who work on Sundays
The strike came to an end tonight, after the workers walked off the job ten days ago.
FRC Media News will have more details as they become available.
