The State Office of Labor & Workforce Development has announced that Steppingstone – a social service agency with forty years of experience in helping those with addiction problems – has been awarded a $175 thousand dollar grant. The monies will be used to pay for training ninety seven (97) staff members in order for them to better serve their clients.
It is being reported that ten (10) employees will begin a two year program to become licensed alcohol & drug abuse counselors with the ability to deal with a multicultural and diverse client base. Once training is completed, twelve (12) employees are expected to be promoted, and eight more will be hired.
Most of the training will be held at Bristol Community College.
