Fiola says the special district meeting will focus on legislation related to economic development throughout the commonwealth, including the Baker/Polito Administration’s “Opportunities for All” economic plan proposed in November 2015, which outlines strategies for growing and retaining a skilled workforce, expanding business diversity, producing housing policies that support economic growth, and increasing access to transportation.
The meeting will feature a business roundtable discussion during which local business owners and representatives will have the opportunity to speak with the committee members and Deputy Secretary Carolyn Kirk from the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development who will be present to discuss issues, ideas, and concerns affecting business today.
Deputy Secretary Kirk will outline “Opportunities for All” in further detail, and other discussion will consist of how the administration plans to support Gateway Cities like Fall River.
