Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan will not be presenting his State of the City Address next week as planned.
From the City of Fall River
(Fall River, MA- March 11, 2020)- Massachusetts has declared a State of Emergency and has encouraged the cancellation of all discretionary gathering, particularly gatherings involving large numbers of people. As a result and in an abundance of caution, Mayor Paul E. Coogan will be postponing the State of the City address that was scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2020 at 6:00pm.
The State of the City address will be rescheduled once the State of Emergency is lifted. Although strict compliance of Section 3-6 of the City Charter cannot occur, the Administration believes that an address that is open to the public takes priority over the time constraints detailed in the City Charter.
