Fall River’s Stanley Street fires station was closed today due to a concern over mold levels in the building.

Here is more from Mayor Jasiel Correia’s office:

Due to elevated mold levels that have been detected in some parts of the Stanley Street Station, Platform 1 is going to be responding from Commerce Drive Fire Station and Engine 12 will be responding from the Bedford Street Fire Station.

In order to properly clean the station and protect our firefighters that work in that station, the decision was quickly made by the Correia Administration in consultation with Chief John Lynch to adjust which stations these apparatus will respond from.  It is anticipated that Engine 12 and Platform 1 will resume their response from Stanley Street tomorrow, July 23rd.

In case of emergency, DO NOT report to the Stanley Street Station as there will not be anyone there to address your emergency.
