Customers of the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) will continue to ride fare-free through June of 2025 after Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey approved the state’s FY 2025 budget allocating money for the service to all 15 regional transit authorities across the state.
Fare-free service includes the continuation of routes on Sundays, which was re-introduced earlier this year. Mr. Rousseau said that even though free fares have been popular, there is no expectation it will continue past next June.
