After four years of planning, and getting the required $4.2 million dollars to get a Splash Park built at the deteriorating Father Travassos Park behind the Espirito Santo School on Alden Street, the project is finally coming to fruition.

The Splash Park will be safe for young people, because the padding in the water part of the park, and the playground are made out of recycled tires. The material is such that if children fall they will ‘bounce’ rather than hit a hard surface. That according to Flint Neighborhood Association President Carlos Cesar, who is the driving force in moving the project forward.
