Fall River’s Cambodian American Rescue Organization, Inc. (CARO) has hosted city festivals celebrating Cambodian culture in recent summers.  Now, as part of its efforts to promote harmony among people from diverse backgrounds, CARO is presenting Fall River’s first Southeast Asian Cultural Festival.

The purpose of the festival, says CARO president Ricky Tith, is “to share Asian American culture with the Fall River community and encourage our friends to form an alliance by joining with our Southeast Asian friends and neighbors from around New England.”

The outdoor event will showcase Asian American customs, heritage, arts, and cuisines and will feature live music, stage performances, and crafts. Games, activities, and entertainment for children will also be available, along with specialty items such as Khmer shaved ice.

The festival will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at Heritage State Park.  Admission is free.  For more information, call 774-319-0684 or go to https://www.facebook.com/CARO508/
