It appears that the solar panels on the roof of Morton Middle School may be powered on in the next month. That according to an article in today’s Fall River Herald News.

Reportedly, The City’s Director of Buildings & Grounds Ken Pachecco says, the activiation will follow the finalization of an agreement of utility provider National Grid, and after a walk through to commission the system.

The solar panels cost $217 thousand dollars to install. Then-Chief Operating Officer for the School Department Paul Coogan says, the solar generated power will not power the entire building, but rather five to six percent, which is a start in saving electricity.

Getting to this point of activation though, has not been easy though. Click here for the Herald News Story.
