Tuesday, December 29th, was the first time residents in the Greater Fall River area woke up to slushy snow on the ground this winter season.
As motorists ventured outside this morning, the city’s plows were out salting raodways in order to keep them clear for safe travel.
According to Director of Community Maintenance Director Ken Pachecco, his snow removal budget is just under $600 thousand dollars, which “May not get us through the winter, especially if we get bombarded with as much snow as last year,” he tells frcconnect.org.
Pachecco also says people with proper snow removal equipment can apply for contract work during periods of heavy snow when the help is needed.
“Depending on the type of equipment a person owns, we pay up to $56.00 an hour,” Pachecco says.
For more information, interested people can call the Community Maintenance Department located at (508) 324-2584.
