A site tour of the old Bedford Street Police station in Fall River, scheduled for Wednesday, September 16th has been cancelled.

According to the city’s Purchasing Agent Tim McCoy, no one registered to tour the city-owned building that has been up for sale for a few years now.

“The deadline to register to visit the site was Monday, September 15th at 3:00 p.m., but no one did sign up,” Mr. McCoy says, adding a new date for the tour has been scheduled for September 30th.

Anyone interested in purchasing the building can register to tour the building later this month by calling the city’s Purchasing Department at (508) 324-2250 by September 28th.

Mr. McCoy tells frcconnect.org that three (3) architectural firms have shown interest in buying the building: Stark Architects on Cove Street, Fall River; DHK Architects on Canal Street, Boston; and Davis Square Architects in Somerville; however, no RFP packages have been returned.

The old police station located at 58 Bedford Street has had an initial site assessment and hazardous waste survey completed, accroding to Mr. McCoy. Results can be found on the city’s website.

RFP requests are still being accepted.
