Senator Michael Rodrigues has already thrown his support behind one of the Democrats running for President in 2020.
The senator has endorsed South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg for the Democratic nomination. Here are the details from Senator Rodrigues’ office:
Mayor Pete Buttigieg is the Best Choice to Lead Our Country Forward
I am Massachusetts State Senator Michael Rodrigues, Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. I have been a member of the Massachusetts legislature since 1996, serving in the House of Representatives for 14 years before winning election to the Senate in 2010 in the First Bristol and Plymouth District. In this capacity, I serve 160,000 residents in the SouthCoast region of Massachusetts. In my time as a legislator, I have always put a priority on authenticity and moral fiber. That is why I am proud to be endorsing Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Throughout his life and career, Mayor Buttigieg has demonstrated the quality and ability of a dedicated leader. As a veteran, he has proven to have the courage necessary to defend our country with honor. As a Rhodes Scholar and Harvard graduate, he clearly possesses a voracious appetite for knowledge and intellectual curiosity that is so lacking in our current political climate. As a leader with executive experience, he has the acumen to effectively and efficiently run a government. However, while these credentials make him an obviously qualified candidate for office, they are not the most important reasons that Mayor Buttigieg will have my vote. Rather, it is the obvious strength of his character and morality that lead me to believe he can unite and lead our country forward. It is time for a new generation of progressive leaders to emerge, and I believe Mayor Buttigieg will be at its forefront.
Once again, I believe that Mayor Pete Buttigieg is the best choice to lead our country forward. He possesses the acumen, knowledge, and, more importantly, the character to be our Commander-in-Chief. I am glad to endorse Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the 2020 Presidential Election.
