The Fall River Police department is looking to hire part-time school crossing guards” at 40 city-wide traffic locations beginning this fall.
Earlier this month, Mayor Sutter announced that the crossing guards were not part of the new fiscal year budget, but has since worked with the police department, and school superintendent to make the salary monies available.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, good health, and have no felony record.
Police Chief Dan Racine says a training program will be provided.
Work hours: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Police Safety Officer Gary Atkinson is in charge of the program.
