The Fall River School committee plans to meet in special session tonight, April 7th, to discuss and vote on the school superintendent job description, and to do the same for the salary range.

School Committee member Melissa Panchley-Karam tells frcmedianews.org she is hoping to have someone in place by mid June.

“Ms. Mayo-Brown will be leaving to take on another position at the end of this fiscal year on June 30th, so it would be appropriate to have someone else in place before she leaves.”

The school committee hired a private company to help them sort through the application packages at an approximate cost of $12,000.

In addition, committee members will discuss and vote on the job description, advertising, posting, and hiring options for the position of Administrative Assistant for School Committee Services.

Tonight’s session takes place at the Spencer Borden Elementary School at 1400 President Avenue beginning at 7:00 p.m.
