The Fall River School Committee met in executive session last night to discuss a request by some members to explore terminating the contract of school superintendent Dr. Tracy Curley. Dr. Curely is nearly two years into a two-year contract.
Members critical of the superintendent’s performance are looking to use a clause in her contract that allows termination without cause. After meeting behind closed doors, the committee did not report any results of the discussion when it returned to open session.
This morning, Mayor Paul Coogan provided an update.
During the meeting, residents, administrators, and teachers spoke in support of the superintendent.
Joey Ford, from an educational watchdog organization called Parent Data Force, relayed concerns by those in the district who are reluctant to come forward.
