The Fall River School Committee has decided to hire a private company to help them find the best qualified school superintendent to take the place of Meg Mayo-Brown come June 30th.
Committee member Gabriel Andrade tells Frcmedianews.org that during a special session the panel decided to submit an RFP for a regional firm to set the requirements necessary for the soon-to-be vacant position.
Andrade admits that time is short to find a replacement for Mayo-Brown who is leaving to take an equivalent position in the Barnstable School District.
“But it’s doable,” he says adding, “With the guidance of the firm we hire will we have gathered sufficient information in which to create a solid job description for advertising purposes.”
According to the City’s Purchasing Agent Tim McCoy, the RFP is upwards from $10 to $15 thousand dollars and will be made public in the media starting this Saturday.
