The Fall River city election season officially gets underway this Tuesday as candidates can obtain nomination papers for mayor, city council or school committee.
Mr. Lyons says candidates must meet the following criteria when requesting nomination papers.
Even though securing the number of signatures from voters for nomination may seem easy, Mr. Lyons recommends getting more signatures than the minimum.
Included in the mailing of this year’s city census is an application for voting by mail this year. Mr. Lyons says thus far that option to vote has been a popular one.
And speaking of the city census, Mr. Lyons cautions that failure to take part may impact your active voter status this election season.
This year’s municipal preliminary election will be held on September 19 with the municipal election on November 8.
