According to officials at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, one lane-overnight traffic returns Monday, May 16th until the end of next week. The change affects both lanes of of the Braga Bridge on Interstate 195 that connects Fall River and Somerset.
The traffic change is part of the Route 79/Braga Bridge Improvement Project and includes the following traffic shifts:
Monday through Thursday, – May 16th through 19th, from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following morning; from 9 p.m. Friday, May 20th, to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, one lane in each direction will be closed, and traffic shifted between the Somerset and Fall River sides of the bridge. The lane shifts are necessary to allow the contractor to work on the bridge deck.
Motorists traveling in this direction should slow down, use caution, or seek alternative routes.
