It is being reported that two city businessmen have bought the long abandoned Regatta at Battleship Cove. The sale price: $3.5 million dollars. The two partners plan to invest some $2 to $3 million dollars to turn the waterfront restaurant and pub into a seafood restaurant, pub, and function hall, but definitely not a night club.
According to an article in The Fall River Herald News today, Pedro ‘Peter” Cabral, co-owner of the Taphouse Grille and previously of the Flaunt Lounge – both establishments located downtown – along with Thomas Richardson Jr., owner of Triangle refrigeration bought the 2.2-acre property at 392 Davol Street from Paula and Joseph Ruggiero Jr.
Registry of Deeds records list the Regatta sale to Rapids Management LLC on December 28th at $3 million, although the new co-owners say the price was actually $3.5 million.
