Massachusetts voters approved Question four in Tuesday’s election: Legalizing, regulating, and taxing Marijuana for recreational use. The law now states that persons 21 years of age and older can possess up to one ounce of marijuana outside of their residences; possess up to ten ounces of marijuana inside their residences, and grow up to six marijuana plants in their homes, among other conditions.
The approval now means a three member Cannabis Control Commission appointed by the state treasurer will be established as well as a Cannabis Advisory Board of fifteen members appointed by the governor.
