With only 18% of Fall River’s approximately 47,500 registered voters turning out in yesterday’s preliminary election, Incumbent Mayor Jasiel F. Correia II was the top voter getter with 45.76 percent of the votes. Candidate and Vice President of the City Council Linda Pereira came in second with 36.87 percent of the votes leaving a 9 percent gap between them. Now both names will appear on the final ballot in November. Mayoral Candidate Ronald Cabral, who placed last in terms of the number of votes he received – 108 – appeared at Pereira’s campaign quarters to throw his support behind her:
