Here are some quotes from the candidates as they spoke during their three minute opening statement at a political forum September 17th:

“The city is moving forward. Just look at the 145 page report the transition team came up with it. We are better off than we were a year ago.”
Incumbent candidate C. Samuel Sutter

“We have to get more regional companies into Fall River, but we also have to focus on helping the small businesses stay open.”
Candidate Jaziel F. Correia II

“I haven’t stolen any money from the elderly in Fall River, the mayor has done that.”
Candidate Jordan Silvia

This my third term running…this year I have a better chance of winning over the others here on the stage.”
Candidate Richard M. Renzi

“Education is important. Without educating our children we cannot improve the future of the city.”
Candidate Robert Alexander

The mayoral forum was held at Morton Middle School, sponsored by the Fall River Herald News, and moderated by City Editor H-N Will Richmond. At one point, several members of the audience were removed by police escort for using foul language.
