The Fall River Police Department announced two arrests over the weekend charging individuals with alleged drug and firearms offenses.

FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
On October 30, 2020, Detective Joshua Robillard along with other members of the Vice and Intelligence Unit, served a search warrant on the second floor of 236 Linden St., Fall River, MA.
A search of the apartment revealed the following items:

  • One plastic bag of suspected crack cocaine (19.19 grams) between the mattress and the box spring.
  • Digital scale in a drawer
  • Safe in a drawer that contained five plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine (107.34 grams total) and $3,565.00 U.S. currency.
  • The total weight of the suspected crack cocaine seized was 126.53 grams. The total amount of money seized was $4,034.00. The seized currency was turned into evidence and will be
    held pending forfeiture proceedings.

Arrested: Rakeem Tubbs, age 32, with a listed address of 236 Linden St., Fall River, MA.

Charges: Trafficking in cocaine in excess of 100 grams

On Friday, October 30, 2020, Detective Matthew Mendes, along with members of the Gang Task Force and ATF served a search warrant at 656 Second Street (Apt 2-South) Fall River, MA.

A search of the apartment revealed the following items:

  • One (1) Silver Beretta 9mm (MOD. 92FS) semiautomatic pistol with an obliterated serial number
  • One –(10) 9mm round magazine, with 9 rounds of 9mm ammunition

Arrested: 16-year-old juvenile.

Charges: Possess Non-Large Capacity Firearm in a Home & Possess Ammunition Without an FID Card

In regards to the above investigations, Police Chief Jeffrey Cardoza stated, “Our investigators are relentless in identifying those individuals peddling dangerous drugs or possessing illegal firearms in our community. Along with our federal and state partners, we will continue to ferret out anyone involved in the types of offenses”.
