Fall River police are searching for a man that tried to rob a city business. Police responsed to 1088 Beford Street last Friday following an attempted robbery report. The business owner told police the suspect tried to rob his store while reaching into his waistband, possibly for a weapon, while rushing toward the owner.  Ultimately, the would-be robber was chased away from the business.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a “chunky build,” short black hair, and short facial hair cut into a goatee style. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants and was last seen running in the area of Oak Grove Avenue toward Chavenson Street.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective J.T. Hoar at (508) 324 – 2786 or call the anonymous tips line at (508) 672-TIPS.
