Police Major Crimes Department Detectives continue to search for a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident outside the campus of Talbot Middle School that occurred about an hour after dismissal on Monday, March 14th.
According to police, the stabbing is not a random act of violence, and is being treated as such. Reportedly, the incident occurred at the corner of Stone and Melrose Streets, just yards away from the middle school. A tee shirt and a pair of sunglasses were the only evidence left at the scene.
The victim, an unidentified adult man, is being treated at Rhode Island Hospital. He is listed in serious, but stable condition.
In response to the stabbing incident, an increased police presence around Talbot and the general area has been put into place for obvious public safety reasons.
