Fall River Police, State Police, and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are investigating a homicide that occurred in Fall River earlier this morning.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn, III announced that Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, along with Fall River Police, are investigating an early morning stabbing homicide in Fall River. Fall River Police received a 911 call at approximately 2:15 am this morning. The caller indicated that someone had been stabbed and killed at 57 Chesworth Street in Fall River. Upon arrival, Fall River Police and EMS located 53-year-old Luis Xavier Perez Miranda with an injury to his chest. He was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. 48-year-old Robert Hodgson Jr. was arrested as a suspect in the case. He is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in the Fall River District Court on a murder charge.
