People Incorporated’s state-of-the-art early education center is open in the city’s north end.
The facility sits on four acres of land off Weaver Street and currently serves a combined population of 180 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Executive Director Megan Stirk says the center’s vision has been a long-term endeavor.
There are still some finishing touches being done at the school, which cost the organization $13 million to construct with the support of public and private partners.
Along with the new early education center, People Incorporated operates its children’s center on Cove Street, focusing on niche early education programs. It’s all part of enhancing the growing need in the region to expand early educational opportunities for local families.
Stirk says the new center provides quality early educational services to families regardless of their income.
People Incorporated is planning an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new early education center sometime next month.
