News reports confirm that a 50 year old pedestrian struck by a car earlier this week while crossing Plymouth Avenue in Fall River is still battling for his life today.

Police Spokesman Lt. Paul Santos indicated that the unidentified man remains in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital following the accident near 905 Plymouth Avenue where witnesses say, he was struck by a car and flung about 20 feet in the air before landing on the street. Police are still trying to positively identify the victim, and contact his close relatives.

A 20 year old woman has been charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and will be summonsed into court. Santos says that the charge had not been brought forward in Fall River Second District Court, and that the driver has not been identified at this time.
