Bristol County Chamber of Commerce Names New President & CEO
FALL RIVER, MA – The Bristol County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that it has selected Michael F. O’Sullivan as the Chamber’s new President & CEO. O’Sullivan was approved by the Board of Directors after an extensive nationwide search. He will begin work in his new position on July 2nd . O’Sullivan returns to southern New England after spending the
last thirteen years in upstate New York. Most recently, he was the Advertising Director for The Post Star a daily newspaper in
Glens Falls, NY. O’Sullivan led the advertising sales team, including digital products and services.
Key responsibilities included meeting or exceeding revenue targets, as well as growing and retaining revenue from top accounts. Prior to his time at The Post Star, O’Sullivan was the President of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce in Troy, NY. He led the daily operations including Profit and Loss responsibility, administration, and management for a 900 member organization. In addition, O’Sullivan oversaw member, government, and community relations, public communication, as well as program and event planning. He was also instrumental in completing a three year strategic plan involving three main components: increase retention and recruitment efforts while broadening participation in the
region; develop, implement, and enhance programs benefiting all businesses and assisting in
their growth; and continue collaboration through Board initiatives while increasing
organizational financial solvency.
“It’s an honor to become President & CEO of such a great organization,” said O’Sullivan.
“All of the staff and board members have done a terrific job serving the membership and the
community for a long time. I look forward to continuing that tradition, working with our
members, legislators and the community to help the Chamber and the county to continue to
grow. Chair of the Chamber’s Board, Brian LeComte, said, “We are pleased to have someone
with Mike’s leadership qualities joining our team.
We had many strong candidates from across the country to choose from. He brings a diverse business background to the Chamber. Mike’s experience and energy will help us accomplish our goal of growing our membership and
becoming a stronger voice for the business community.” LeComte added, “We are pleased to
welcome Mike back to the area and look forward to him working with our professional staff as
we refine our strategy and become more relevant to today’s business climate.”
LeComte also extended his appreciation to Kimberly Coroa Moniz for serving as Interim
Director during the search process, “Kimberly has been with the Chamber for over nineteen
years and we are lucky to have her.” After careful consideration, Mrs. Moniz felt she could best
serve the community in her continued role as Vice President. O’Sullivan holds a Bachelor’s Degree
in Business Administration from Villanova University. He has also been very active in the community including serving on the Board of Directors of several Chambers and other civic minded organizations.
