Provisional Fire Chief John Lynch is working on specifications & requests for bids for six (6) new fire trucks: Three (3) pumpers, two (2) ladder, and one (1) heavy rescue truck. A chevrolet Tahoe truck and other equipment will also be purchased.
The new vehicles will be bought thanks to a $5 million dollar federal loan secured by the city’s Community Development Agency last summer. According to Lynch, the new apparatus will be delivered in February and housed at Globe, Candeias, Flint, and Central Stations.
The first round of requests should be ready by mid-October.
