The Bristol Community College Board of Trustees has a new chairperson. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has appointed Trustee Joan Medeiros to that position. Medeiros will take over for former Chair Joseph A. Marshall, and will be the first woman ever appointed to the post.
Medieros works as the Vice President of Commercial Lending for Bristol County Savings Bank in Fall River. She is also a Rotary Club member, and has served on several boards in past years including the United Way of Greater Fall River.
Medeiros has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. A few years back, she was presented with the 2014 Portuguese Heritage Award, and in 2003 was named Lender of the Year by the South Eastern Economic Development Corporation.
