The name of the final candidate to serve as College President for Bristol Community College will be announced at a special meeting of the Board of Trustees later today. The meeting will be held in the atrium of the Commonwealth College Center (G Building) at 4:00 p.m.

The new candidate will be the fourth president in the College’s 51 year history, and will replace outgoing President John J.Sbrega, Ph. D., who is retiring in August of 2017.Five finalists were selected last month after two full days of interviews with 12 semifinalists. Today, the trustees will decide which of the five finalists they prefer to take the position. The recommendation will then go to the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education, which will make the ultimate decision sometime in January.

The finalists include: Greg L. Sethares, vice president of academic affairs at Bristol Community College; Paula R. Pitcher, senior advisor to the commissioner of the Massachusetts department of Higher Education; Laura L. Douglas, provost of Des Moines Area Community College; Gena Glickman, president of Manchester Community College in Connecticut; and Peggy F. Jackson-Bradford, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Westchester Community College of the State University of New York.
