Scarlett Lewis, founder of the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, will be the guest speaker at the Fall River Youth and Family Fest tomorrow.
Lewis is the mother of Jesse Lewis, one of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. The organization she started in memory of her son “collaborates with professional educators to bring lasting meaning to Jesse’s murder by developing school-based educational programs to change our current culture of violence to one of safety, peace and love for everyone in our world.”
Sponsored by the Youth Empowerment Task Force, the fest will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the Boys and Girls Club and will include food, music, games, and prizes. Its purpose is “to encourage opening the door to peace and positivity in Fall River,” said the event organizers.
