Jesse Mermell is one of nine (9) candidates seeking the Democratic nomination in the race to succeed Joseph Kennedy for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional House seat. She will be on the ballot in the northern part of Fall River at the September 1st State Primary.

Watch our interview with Jesse.

Jesse Mermell has experience working in local and state governments.  She was a member of the Brookline Board of Selectmen and served as former Governor Deval Patrick’s communications director.  She says that experience, combined with leadership positions in such organizations as Planned Parenthood and the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, makes her qualified to be considered to succeed Congressman Joseph Kennedy in this fall’s election.

Ms. Mermell says there are many issues important to the voters of the 4th Congressional District.  But she believes the overriding factor in improving the quality of life for all in the Commonwealth is affordable healthcare.

Along with being in favor of the Clean New Deal, instituting police reform and ensuring all children receive a quality education, Ms. Mermell is also looking to close the gap between those with high incomes with those struggling to make ends meet.
