The Fall River City Council tonight voted to set the recall election of Mayor Jasiel Correia for Tuesday, March 12.
The council voted 8-1 to approve the election date with Councillor Steven Camara casting the lone no vote.
Candidates seeking to run in the election for mayor, if the recall is successful, can pick-up nomination papers beginning this Friday, January 4th. Completed nomination papers will be due back to the Elections Office by January 23rd. Candidates need the signatures of 300 registered voters to qualify for the ballot.
All polling places in Fall River will be open on election day from 7 am to 8 pm.
