Throwing her support behind the Fall River Office of Economic Development continuing to serve in its role, Mayoral Candidate Linda Pereira unveiled her own five point economic development plan should she be elected in November. At a news conference today at the Southcoast Market Place in the city’s south end, Pereira disagreed with current mayor Jasiel Correia’s efforts to oust FROED Executive Director Ken Fiola and his team and replace the non profit agency – in business for thirty (30) years – to establish a similar, yet city-run department. She explained that in order to boost employment numbers and see continued economic growth in the city, FROED’s technical support and the knowledge of its employees is essential to get the job done:
