News Release from the Office of Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia
Fall River, Massachusetts- Mayor Correia will be hosting a press conference at BMC Durfee High School of Fall River, 360 Elsbree Street, on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11am. Mayor Correia will be discussing his stance on the proposal to build a new public high school for the City of Fall River. Tours of the current school will take place immediately following the press conference.
Mayor Correia says, “I look forward to discussing this exciting project with the public. We are optimistic about the opportunity to the build a new Durfee High School.”
The Massachusetts School Building Authority’s Board of Directors have voted and approved funding of $165,084,900 million for the project. Fall River residents will have an opportunity to vote on approval of funding the city’s portion of the project, $98.5 million, on March 6, 2018.
