Since the official end of the pandemic, state residents receiving MassHealth benefits have been required to renew their coverage.
The redetermination process began in April with those who needed to renew receiving a special blue envelope in the mail with instructions on the steps to keep their insurance.
Fall River is one of 15 communities across the Commonwealth with the highest percentage of MassHealth recipients and the state is partnering with local social service organizations in getting the word out about the renewal and helping residents with the process. Among the organizations in this effort in Fall River is Ser Jobs for Progress.
Under the direction of Healthcare for All in Massachusetts, a team of local canvassers is visiting MassHealth residents making sure they are aware of the renewal and aiding where possible.
Residents who are denied MassHealth benefits during renewal are directed to utilize the Massachusetts Health Connector network to find affordable healthcare options.
