The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Bristol County is hosting three events next month to address what it calls “the public health crisis of the digital age”: hypersexualized media and pornography.
Titled “Culture Reframed,” the programs will focus on recognizing and responding to the role pornography can play in sexual violence, unhealthy relationships, and other issues. They are sponsored by the Carney Family Foundation and will be led by Dr. Gail Dines.
Seminars for professionals will be held on April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $10. A free event for parents, caregivers, and community members will take place later in the day from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The location is White’s of Westport. Attendees must be 18 years or older.
