The Friends of Fall River Public Library are sponsoring two book talks with local authors in September.

September 12, 2018: Blue Collars

Catherine McLaughlin, formerly an English professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, discusses her new novel from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The story of a New Bedford working-class Irish-American family, the book is set in the 1950s through the 1970s.

September 25: Seven Miles After Sundown

“East End Eddie” Doherty will be at the library from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. to talk about his non-fiction account of surfcasting for striped bass on the Cape Cod Canal.  Doherty, a retired District Court Clerk-Magistrate, has published articles in area newspapers and magazines. This is his first book.

Both events will be held in the Meeting Room at 104 North Main Street in Fall River.  Admission is free.
