Crafts, Art Contests, and Online Events at Fall River Public Library

While it’s a very different summer at the Fall River Public Library, we are still offering summer reading, take-home crafts, and online programs. Here’s what’s going on this week at the library!

Take-Home Crafts: Crafts for kids are available for curbside pickup at both the Main Library and the South Branch. This week, kids can pick up a shark puppet at the Main Library and a water bottle firefly craft at the South Branch. To reserve a craft, call the Main Library at 508-324-2700, ext. 4, or the South Branch, 508-324-2708.

Art Contests: This week, kids can create their own unique birthday card for Harry Potter and drop it off outside the Main Library to win some great Harry Potter gift packs! The deadline to drop off your birthday cards is Thursday, July 30 at 4 pm. Next up is our Jungle Animal Art Contest. Draw your favorite wild animal, email it to David Mello at dmello@sailsinc.org, and you will be entered in a prize drawing. Jungle animal pictures should be emailed by August 3 at 4 pm, to be eligible for the drawing. Winners will be announced at the online jungle storytime.

Jungle Journey Online Storytime: This exciting event will be live-streamed on our Facebook page and on Fall River Community Media on August 4 at 11 am. A video will be available to watch later on if you miss the live event.

Limited Browsing: Library appointments are available for 30-minute visits. Not all areas of the library are open to the public, but the Children’s Room, Main Circulation Desk, and Reference Room are, and computers and printing are available. Call the library to schedule your visit.

Curbside Pickup: Curbside pickup is available at both branches. Place books and movies on hold online and pick them up at the door, or request a Book Bundle and let us choose for you! Call ahead to see if your items are ready for pick up and to make an appointment to get them.
