State Representative Alan Silvia has taken the initiative to make certain the fire-ravaged King Phillip Mill building is safe.
A public safety meeting pertaining to the mill located at 377 Kilburn Street will be held Wednesday, December 2nd at Government Center beginning at 5:15 p.m. Representative Silvia will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns regarding the structure at that time.
The King Phillip Mill was used as an old cotton mill complex in the late 1800’s. In the early 1900’s the building was purchased by Berkshire Hathaway. A fire destroyed a part of the mill complex on the morning of January 3rd 2012, and has since been thought of a a safety hazard.
The meeting at the Government Center council chambers on Wednesday, December 2nd is open to the public. Residents are urged to attend.
