Yesterday’s Fall River City Election saw a strong showing by incumbents in the races for Mayor, City Council and Shcool Committee.
Nearly 24% of the eligible voters cast ballots yesterday with Mayor Paul Coogan defeating City Council President Cliff Ponte.
In the race for City Council, seven of the eight incumbents were re-elected, with only Counclor Christopher Peckham falling short of earning a second term. Former councilor Joseph Camara earned a spot back on the council and will be joined by newcomer Andrew Raposo.
The three incumbents running for School Committee were re-elected, and will be joined by Shelli Pereira, Sara Rodrigues and Bobby Bailey.
