If you’re looking to volunteer to provide comfort and support to cancer patients, St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River is offering Steward Hospice volunteer training sessions this summer. The classes include learning about the philosophy of hospice care, an overview of services offered, and discussions about physical, social, and spiritual issues that patients may encounter at the end of life. The emphasis will be geared towards effective communication and listening skills. Steward Health Care is seeking volunteers for day, evening, or weekend availability, and welcome Portuguese-speaking adults and veterans aged 18 and over.
The training program is provided with no cost to participants, and the volunteer services will be provided at the Fall River facility. The administration office is located at Steward Home Care and Hospice, at 275 Martine Street, Fall River.
