What’s Happening at the Library: Holiday Edition, 2021

Happy holidays from the Fall River Public Library! Here are some updates about our holiday hours and programs from December 18 through January 1, 2022. We also want to let people know that, per the Board of Health, masks must be worn in all municipal buildings, including the library, effective immediately.

On Saturday, December 18, from 11 am – 2 pm, the library welcomes One Up Games for a Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament! Kids and teens are invited to join us to test their skills in the ultimate crossover fighting game. Registration is required. Also on Saturday, December 18, the library’s chess club will meet at 1 pm in the Fell Reading Room.

The library’s free big-screen movie for Monday, December 20 is Dear Evan Hansen, starring Ben Platt, shown at 1 pm and 6 pm. This film is rated PG-13.

The Children’s Department is offering weekly take-home crafts. The craft for Monday, December 20 through Thursday, December 23 is a Snowman Necklace, available while supplies last.

Preschool Storytime is held on Tuesday, December 21, at 11 am, and Play & Learn, sponsored by Fall River Schools, is held Wednesday, December 22 at 10 am.

On Tuesday, December 21 at 4 pm, the Children’s Department will celebrate the first day of winter with a Snowman storytime and craft.

Please note that our Knitting Club meeting for Tuesday, December 21 is canceled.

Our weekly Magic: the Gathering group meets on Wednesday, December 22, at 5 pm in the Fell Reading Room. All ages (adults and teens) are welcome.

Our holiday hours are as follows: CLOSED Friday, December 24 and Saturday, December 25; open normal hours Monday, December 26 through Thursday, December 30; and CLOSED Friday, 12/31 and Saturday, 1/1/22.
